Patrick Slaney Healer

If I had to a pick a favorite from this year this Healer would be the ONE for me. Patrick gave me carte blanche with wood selection and I knew I had to use this piece of Cherry we’ve had around for a couple years. It’s chambered with a bent top arm contour. Patrick mainly plays a tele (not for long!) and is comfortable with no tummy cut. The maple neck is from the same board as the one for Lloyd Cole, and the fretboard is Madagascar rosewood. @geminipickups has a favorite blend of materials for these P90’s and they have such a great tone. Alnico poles for the neck pickup and traditional steel adjustable poles for the bridge. Wow. The @masterybridge vibrato is killer too of course. Love their original shape. 25” scale, 1.625” nut width. Kluson tuners again. Sunburst top, natural back with satin finish all around. Not sure the weight but it was probably right around 7lbs. Patrick used to live in SF and had Gary Brawer make up a parts guitar years ago too, so that connection to my old workplace was pretty cool. Always amazed when that stuff happens. Serendipity.
