Reduced Tilt Headstock

The Growler headstock has a 7 degree tilt back vs the standard Gibson 13 degrees which keeps the end of the headstock off the ground when laid flat. These changes have drastically increased the strength of the neck if there ever was a fall.

Chambered Body

We’ve especially loved the combination of a chambered mahogany body and maple top on this style which gives a nice bite to the trebles while maintaining the tonal depth typical of mahogany guitars.

Testimonials

  • “Taking a minute to express gratitude for Trevor at Healy Guitars. He’s a luthier in Easthampton, MA and his repair work is amazing and his custom hand-built guitars are absolutely stunning. If you ever need a setup, repair or want to commission a custom build, Trevor is the ONLY guy I recommend! This is my Healy Growler that I had Trevor build for me in 2016. Usually the Growler is a stripped down vintage LP-Jr style guitar but I wanted something more funky and flashy for a custom guitar. I mocked up the pickguard shape in photoshop and wanted to channel a sort of Les Paul meets Thinline Tele meets Brian May... Trevor absolutely killed it. Bare Knuckle Holydiver pickups with coil-tap switches, Gotoh bridge and tailpiece, flamed maple top, mahogany neck and body, ebony fingerboard, 24.75” scale, and Trevor shaped the neck profile to match another guitar of mine that I loved. My Gibson Les Paul Traditional instantly became a backup and I fell in love with this thing. Go shoot him a follow and have him do your Fretted Instrument work!”
