This Walnut Healer left for it’s new home this afternoon. It was a pleasure working with Josh on all the details including some Healer firsts: roasted flame maple binding to match the neck, and oil finish throughout. We picked through some walnut here at the shop and chose a great piece of Claro which was then re-sawn for the bookmatched top and back. I cut aluminum fret markers to match the brushed aluminum guard and Mastery bridge and vibrato. The Macassar ebony fretboard and headcap take the color palette one step darker, a warm contrast to the cool aluminum. We used the same pickup and wiring combo from the T-black Healer from earlier this year, Lollar custom wound JM’s and gold foil in the middle, humcancelling like a Strat I’m 2 and 4 on a 5 way switch with Emerson Custom pots and cap. It’s chambered for tone and weight reduction and despite having a ton of hardware, sits comfortably at 8 lbs even.
