The double cutaway body offers a more compact shape with high fret access across the whole board. The 22 fret neck joins the body at the 21st fret which extends the tenon deeper into the body, giving it additional strength and resonance. The Growler has a classic 3 per side headstock with graphite reinforcement extending past the fretboard and under the solid wood peghead veneer.
Reduced Tilt Headstock
The Growler headstock has a 7 degree tilt back vs the standard Gibson 13 degrees which keeps the end of the headstock off the ground when laid flat. These changes have drastically increased the strength of the neck if there ever was a fall.
Chambered Body
We’ve especially loved the combination of a chambered mahogany body and maple top on this style which gives a nice bite to the trebles while maintaining the tonal depth typical of mahogany guitars.
