Wood and Weather Healer

@woodandweatherdrumshop is an amazing spot in South Hadley Falls, MA and our shop Healer will now reside down there! In honor of it’s new home and to tie in the collaboration, Wood and Weather’s owner Joe found this awesome vintage Slingerland Fiesta Pearl drum shell for a pickguard. This has to be the coolest damn guard I’ve ever made! I laminated the material under some Acrylic and buffed out the rounded edge. The dimension of this in person is really something to behold.

I originally built this Healer in 2017 to try out a new water base finish and have kept it around the shop so we’d have an instrument for people to check out when visiting. We’ve also used it to test different pickups out and I think we’ve had at least 6 different style P-90’s in here over the years. These are the tried and true @lollarpickups P-90’s that have so much bite and character.

The oiled mahogany neck is quite thick, around 0.92 at the nut, tapered to a full 1.0″ at the 12th and lot’s of people have commented on how comfortable it is. The key to that size is keeping the nut width down to a narrow 1.625″, standard vintage Fender spec. This has become a fairly standard size for the Growler necks, but I’ve rarely done it on Healers.

A unique piece that will continue to live on at Wood and Weather. They have a Vox amp upstairs in the showroom now, and carry @earthquakerdevices pedals, so I hope you’ll stop in with your drummer and give it a spin!
